November 1, 2022: Based in Boston, Buffalo and New York, Destination officially launches and showcases its differentiated hybrid model that blends coaching, advisory and investment.
Destination provides startup founders and management teams with consistent, hands-on and value-ad support. The 12-month acceleration program refines entrepreneurs’ growth, fundraising, go-to-market and branding strategies in a streamlined, customised program. Destination Accelerator also makes a direct investment into its partner companies.
Greg Rublev and Frits Abell, two startup veterans behind Destination Accelerator, bring diverse, yet complimentary, skills for Destination’s partner companies. Greg is a serial tech entrepreneur with executive experience across 10 startups and multiple successful exits. He drove product development from inception to $25 million in revenue at ZoomInfo, a B2B SaaS startup, which sold to a PE firm and later went public. He then worked as a product director at three VC-backed B2B startups (two acquired), and then co-founded CompleteCase, a consumer legal tech startup, where he led product, operations, marketing and sales as it grew from three to 300 employees. Under Greg’s management, CompleteCase grew revenue 40x and was sold to a PE firm in 2020. More recently, Greg evolved into a sought-after business coach, providing early stage entrepreneurs with strategic, high touch guidance on how to launch, build, and exit from their ventures.
Frits has helped found and build several companies in Boston, Buffalo and New York City over the past 18 years; these include a digital media company, a business consultancy, and an investment bank. As such, Frits has developed deep experience in marketing, corporate development and operations for startups and mid-stage ventures, for which he managed all aspects of new business formation. Frits has a deep contact base that ranges from financial and strategic investors to entrepreneurs of early stage ventures and strategic acquirers.
Destination Accelerator works with a wide range of founders – from solo to two-and-three person founding teams – who have an impact by creating meaningful change and who are highly motivated to keep going no matter what obstacles they face on the way towards that destination. The founders range from first time entrepreneurs, who need a lot of guidance, coaching and support in hiring people, raising money and going to market, to those who are more seasoned and are on their second or third ventures.
Destination Accelerator invests alongside outside investors – super angels, strategic and venture capital – for whom the accelerator’s work mitigates risk, due to the holistic, comprehensive approach of the program.
